Coming into this "visit to Manzanar," I was not particulary excited, nor did I know how to phrase my feelings surrounding the visit. For me, I see incarceration, past and present, through the context of my ancestors and the now prison industrial complex.

Going to Manzanar has always been such a profound experience for me.

I went in, not knowing what to expect; I came out with a deeper sense of how afraid the American government gets when at war with another country.
